About the Committee

The Community Service and Environmental Development Committee is one of the essential and dynamic committees at the College of Nursing. It serves as a vital link between the college and the wider community, playing an active role in fulfilling one of the university’s core missions: community service and development. The committee believes in the critical role of nursing in promoting public health, preventing disease, and improving quality of life. It seeks to activate this role through well-planned and organized activities aimed at raising health awareness and providing care and support to the most vulnerable groups.

The committee also works to engage students in community volunteer work, helping to prepare well-rounded graduates who are not only academically and scientifically qualified but also socially and ethically aware. It aims to strengthen values of citizenship and belonging, and to foster a sense of social responsibility among students, faculty, and staff.

The committee reviews and updates its plans annually based on changing community needs and in response to emerging health and environmental issues, in coordination with relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations. Activities are carried out through strategic partnerships with civil society institutions, hospitals, schools, health units, and cultural and social centers.

A key focus of the committee is supporting vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and people with special needs, by designing and delivering targeted educational and awareness programs. The committee also contributes to health crisis management through participation in awareness campaigns, first aid training, and emergency response initiatives.

Through this comprehensive approach, the Community Service Committee at the College of Nursing strives to promote sustainable development, improve public health, and affirm the college’s leading role in serving both the local and regional communities.
