About Department

The Department of Fundamentals Nursing is one of the foundational pillars of the College of Nursing at King Khalid University, playing an active role in supporting the healthcare sector by graduating highly competent nursing professionals who are capable of meeting the evolving health needs of the community and providing safe and comprehensive nursing care across various medical specialties.

This direction aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on enhancing quality of life, developing national competencies in the healthcare sector, and transitioning towards a comprehensive and sustainable healthcare system. In this context, the department aims to prepare nursing practitioners equipped with scientific and professional skills, as well as the ability to keep pace with technological and scientific advancements in healthcare.

The department focuses on competency-based education, hands-on training in diverse clinical settings, promoting scientific research, and fostering a spirit of initiative and innovation among students. It also works to strengthen community and professional partnerships, contributing to community service and integration with healthcare institutions in the region.

Mission

Preparing highly qualified nursing cadres that meet the needs of the community, and contribute to providing the necessary basic care for patients in various specialties

Objectives

Introducing female students to the nursing profession, Islamic and international history of the nursing profession and nursing theories.

Qualifying female students to work with members of the health team to provide integrated health care for patients.

Preparing nurses with a degree of professional competence in line with moral and behavioral.

Faculty members carry out scientific research in the field of basic nursing care and encourage female students to participate

It is my honor to welcome you to the Department of Nursing at the College of Nursing – King Khalid University, which represents one of the essential pillars in the development of health education in the Kingdom. By the grace of Allah, we are steadily advancing in preparing nursing professionals who are scientifically and practically qualified, capable of meeting the demands of modern healthcare, and actively contributing to community service.

Inspired by Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance quality of life, develop the healthcare system, and empower national talent, the Department of Nursing is committed to its role in shaping a generation of nurses who are responsible, performance-driven, and prepared to deliver healthcare services based on the highest scientific and humanitarian standards.

We are keen on providing a comprehensive educational environment that fosters innovation, scientific research, and practical training, contributing to the graduation of highly competent professionals across various nursing specialties. We also place great importance on strengthening community and professional partnerships, to bridge academic learning with real-world practice and enable our students to actively participate in fulfilling the nation's healthcare aspirations.
