Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing in Abha, Dr. Sahar Rafdan Al-Shahrani, and in line with the implementation of the 'Pulse of Science' initiative and the role of the College of Nursing in raising health awareness, the Adult Care Nursing and Advanced Nursing Care Department, in collaboration with the Community Service Committee, invites you to attend a workshop titled ' Take the Initiative ... It Could Save a Life' on Tuesday, 27/10/2026 at 8:00 AM at Asir Central Hospital.
Workshop Objectives:
The workshop aims to:
- Raise community awareness about stroke and its importance as a medical emergency.
- Educate participants on the early signs and symptoms of stroke, focusing on facial drooping, arm weakness, and speech difficulties.
- Enhance knowledge on the importance of quick response and immediate contact with emergency services when a stroke is suspected.
- Inform community members about key risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, and high cholesterol.
- Promote healthy practices that help prevent strokes and reduce the likelihood of their occurrence.
- Correct misconceptions regarding stroke symptoms and the importance of prompt medical intervention.
