About the Committee

The Curriculum and Academic Planning Committee is one of the core academic committees at the College of Nursing. It is responsible for the development and continuous updating of academic programs and course content in alignment with national and international academic standards, as well as the evolving needs of the healthcare job market. The committee regularly reviews academic plans to ensure their consistency with the college’s mission, the university’s vision, and current scientific and professional advancements in nursing and healthcare.

The committee is committed to providing high-quality nursing education by designing integrated curricula that develop students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes—preparing them to practice nursing with competence and professionalism. It also emphasizes the incorporation of critical thinking, teamwork, scientific research, and professional ethics into course content.

In collaboration with academic departments, faculty members, and accreditation bodies, the committee also works to review and update course specifications and enhance academic programs in line with scientific and technological advancements.

Committee Tasks

1. Reviewing and Developing Academic Programs

  • Conduct regular reviews of undergraduate and postgraduate academic plans.

  • Update programs to align with quality standards and academic accreditation requirements.

2. Preparing and Updating Course Specifications

  • oordinate with academic departments to revise course specifications based on the intended learning outcomes.

  • Ensure consistency between course descriptions and the overall academic plan.

3. Aligning Courses with Labor Market Needs

  • Analyze the labor market demands in the field of nursing.

  • Propose the introduction of new courses or the modification of existing ones to reflect current healthcare and professional developments.

4. Ensuring Curriculum Integration and Coherence

  • Verify the logical sequence and integration between theoretical and practical courses.

  • Link academic content with hands-on clinical and professional training.

5. Monitoring the Implementation of Academic Regulations

  • Ensure academic programs comply with the approved college and university regulations.

  • Provide suggestions for revising regulations when necessary.

6. Coordinating with the Quality and Accreditation Committee

  • Contribute to the preparation of academic program files required for institutional and programmatic accreditation.

  • Review and document course materials in accordance with quality standards.

7. Promoting E-Learning and Modern Educational Approaches

  • Support the integration of modern educational tools and digital content into the curriculum.

  • Recommend the inclusion of online courses or smart learning units within academic plans.

8. Monitoring Curriculum Evaluation through Feedback

  • Collect and analyze feedback from students and faculty on curriculum effectiveness.

  • Use evaluation results to improve and develop the educational process.
